Welcome Letter
Dear Parents and Friends,
On behalf of all the Governors, welcome to Sacred Heart R.C Nursery and Primary School.
At Sacred Heart governors, staff, parents and children work as a team, building on success, in an atmosphere of care where everyone feels valued. We are proud of the high standards our pupils achieve across the curriculum. As Governors we become involved with a variety of issues including finance, pupil welfare, public relations, building/grounds maintenance and staff appointments. However, without a doubt, we consider that our most important role is to monitor the welfare and education of the pupils. We are justifiably proud of the children in our school.
In addition, this is an opportunity for me to thank all the parents who encourage and support their children so admirably. In a good school, such as ours, parents take a great interest in their child’s learning. During the early years of primary education academic, personal, social and creative skills are nurtured and developed. The strong partnership, which already exists between school and community, underpins the ethos, which is so characteristic of Sacred Heart School.
Governors are appointed to ensure that objectives are met and that planning for the future is both visionary and realistic. We are here to support and encourage the Headteacher and all school staff so that children have access to an enriched education and the opportunities they deserve.
I am available to parents for any matter relating to the school, once you have discussed it with the Head teacher.
Parents and governors have key roles in helping Sacred Heart School to maintain high standards for all our children both now, and for future generations.
With my best wishes,
Julie Burnard Chair of Governors
Julie Burnard
Chair of Governors
I have been a foundation governor of Sacred Heart for a few years now, and I am the lead governor for Statutory Grants (Pupil Premium and Sports Premium).
I am married and have three children who are all past pupils of Sacred Heart. They are now living away from home working and at university, which gives myself and my husband more time to travel and enjoy visiting different countries and cultures.
Being a past pupil myself, I have a great passion for our school.
